Jeremy Skipper
TFS Limited was incorporated in 1977 when its owner and founder, Jeremy Skipper, was farming in Kent. A partner on the pig unit, which was part of a combined dairy and beef enterprise, Jeremy designed a new pig unit from scratch on a green field site. The unit performed extremely well and even in the 1970s it won awards for selling 24 finished pigs per breeding sow per year and achieving feed conversions of 2.5:1, figures which are still regarded a good 30 years later. It soon became apparent that a lot of interesting pig equipment was available in other countries and Jeremy started to import items which were not sold in the UK, having tried virtually all of them out on his farm first. Visitors from around the world came to visit the unit and Jeremy was soon asked to lecture and give advice in countries as far afield as the USA, the Caribbean and the Philippines. For 11 years he also wrote a monthly article in a farming magazine. Over the years, TFS Limited has scored several firsts in bringing innovative pieces of equipment onto the UK market, one of which is the remarkable cellular structure plastic panel made in Belgium. PanelPlus, as the product is known, is now the only product handled by the company. Still used to a very large extent for pen divisions in the pig industry, PanelPlus has become popular for use in many other applications illustrated on this website. |
